Rob Hopkins, a writer, environmentalist and “time-traveller” explores how imagination and storytelling could tackle some of the greatest challenges of the century.

Rob Hopkins is a writer, environmentalist and Co-Founder of the Transition Town Totnes & Transition Network. 

In April of 2023 Rob took to an improvised stage during an Extinction Rebellion protest. Suited in space travel attire he shared a message that was very different to the one we usually hear concerning the climate emergency. He announced that he visited the future in 2030, a near future in which humanity did everything it could to shift its path and tackle the climate crisis. 

Obviously, Rob did not travel to the future. However, he used this narrative to inspire his audience and offer a new perspective. “What we cannot imagine, cannot come into being” he cites - this is what inspired the creation of this film.
